JournoDog’s Royal Wedding Edition

Hey, everyone! It’s me, your ever-so-happy tail-wagging pup JournoDog!

Since every human seems to be talking about and obsessing over the Royal Wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle (now the Duke and Duchess of Sussex), let me chime in with my own doggie observations…

Because notably, there’s a dog involved in this #RoyalWedding news coverage!

To be clear, I’m not referring to myself here… even though officially, I am in every sense known as Princess Puppy Dog (and sometimes Princess Muddy Paws, weather permitting).

Nope, this is all about a cute little beagle named Guy! This is Meghan Markle’s dog, who reports say was living it up on Wedding Day when he got to ride to snag a CAR-RIDE with new grandma-in-law, Queen Elizabeth II, on the way to the wedding in Windsor. Media reports say so, even showing a photo Guy peeking out the window in the backseat with her Majesty right there as a car-pool buddy.

Very cool!!

While no one except the Royal Crew probably knows for sure, maybe it’s due to her Majesty still sad from the loss of her beloved 14-year-old Corgi named Willow, who apparently died in mid-April after a long battle with canine cancer. (sad dog-eyes and kisses to the Queen)

If you haven’t heard the full story of Markle’s dogs before, a quick Google search will give you all kinds of reading material. As The Guardian reported leading up to the wedding, little Guy’s journey from adoption to royal family has been “a total fairytale.”

Snaps from Meghan’s now-defunct Instagram account show off pics of her dogs, as do other media reports and some shown on House & Home publication.

The story goes: Markle adopted the beagle in 2015 from an Ontario pet store, apparently thanks to a Canadian org called A Dog’s Dream Rescue that saves beagles slated to be put down in the U.S. by bringing them to Canada. That’s how Guy ended up there after being transported from Kentucky, and although nobody wanted him at first he eventually got hooked up with Markle at an adoption event in Toronto (where the TV show Suits was filmed).

Now, Guy’s going to be living in a palace — not too shabby!

Oh, word on Meghan’s other dog Bogart is staying with close friends in the USA since he’s too old to make the trip for the UK wedding festivities.

So that is the Royal Wedding, from this JournoDog’s POV.
