(written on an Opening Day of baseball season, in years gone by)

“I know there will be a time when I am not around for Opening Day. But what’s special is that baseball will always be. No matter the weather, even if it’s delayed indefinitely, despite all the wins & losses in life, baseball carries on. History says so. Dogs before have known this, as do I. Baseball endures, and us doggos are here for just a brief ball toss in the wind, in hopes of making it into a catcher’s mitt that is the heart.”
