Hey there, fellow canines and hoomans who serve us! It’s your favorite four-legged field reporter, JournoDog.

Today, I’m here with cautionary tail-wags and an urgent pupdate on the not-so-paw-some ruff weather O-U-T-S-I-D-E.

My hoomans keep talking about “negs windchills,” “Arctic freezes,” and “Poolar Vertexies” as cold as -25°. Not sure what that all means, but I’ve deduced the headline is about the paw-penetrating coldness that brings a shiver below my fur-lines.

Yessiree, it’s cold outside for any pet or person. Even for JournoDoggos digging up frozen winter stories.

[Google Gemini rendering of me!]

When it’s this cold outside, Ma and Dad make me dress up in my super stylish Royal Stewart plaid-patterned Velcro winter coat. Sometimes when it’s windy, they put on my fashionable Halloween skeleton glowy shirt that covers my legs to help keep them warmzies. And even though I try to hide under my table to avoid it, they trap my paws in little booties… so embarrassing!!

Silent GRRRs as I wear them reluctantly and try not to get seen by my frendz in the ‘hood.

Oh well, at least they keep my booties warm.

The toughest part? Creating that essential “yellow snow” artwork.

Sniffin white fluff, some little heaps and other piles taller than me stretching toward the sky as high as Ma and Dad’s laundry inside. That’s when I zero in on a scent and lift my leg to claim that spot. And my tail starts doing an “extreme winter weather wiggle” just trying to get the job done.

And don’t even get me started on sniffing the sniffs! My nose, usually a highly efficient information-gathering tool, almost freezes solid trying to get all the latest updates from the ‘hood, including yellow snow spots my frendz already claimed.

This is much better than my beloved backyard in these freezing cold and snowy times.

My booties don’t stay on and get lost in the white fluff. That makes the snow a real paw-stopper for my… business needs.

It wedges between my toes and pads, creating icy little snowballs that are just plain ouchy.

That’s why I’ve been lobbying hard for brief strolls with either Ma or Dad. Even if it’s just a quick lap a few doors down the street, it’s a thousand times better!

Assuming hoomans have cleared the snow, I can actually walk without feeling like I’m doing a high-wire act. Plus, a change of scenery is always good for the journalistic soul, even if it’s just to check on the latest meow-cats who might have ventured by.

So, stay warm out there, furry frendz and hoomans alike! Keep those paws protected, if your hoomans are giving you those vital out-SIDE excursions.

This JournoDog is out and off to find a nice warm bed under a cuddly blanket… before my next story breaks and it’s time again to brave the elements to bring you the scoops (of food), one chilly sniff at a time.

Remember, snuggle your pets and find tail-wags and smiles wherever you can. Support local journalism, truth and honesty. And always keep your heart, body, and mind warm with love and wisdom.
