Friends! Have I got a whoppa of a story for you.

Given that my role as #JournoDog is all about sniffing all the sniffs and digging up the scoops (of food), and smackin my paws on the pavement in search of a juicy story as good as chmkn… this is one you should be quite curious to read about.

I was home this past weekend. Was a hot, sticky sunshiny day. One where my short brown coat felt like it was a grrzillion degrees outside. Ma and Dad (aka my Hooman Editors in Chief) woke up as usual and had some caffeine in a cup, then after my W-A-L-K we all went outside to play in the backyard. Actually, they were cutting down my pee-trees and piling branches around in my back sniffing area. They told me to take the branches to chew on, and I reluctantly agreed.

Then suddenly, at the point where the big yellow sunshine ball was highest in the sky, it happened. Ma made a giant water bowl appear in the yard. And then she used the long water hose to fill it up, with all the drinks you could ever want to drink even on the hottest dog day of summer!

I kidz you not, friendz. It’s truth. Not lyin.

After a bit, the big water bowl on the grass was all full and sparkling in the sunlight.

I got a sip or two, but then… and this is the crazy part… Ma and Dad tried to get me to get inside!!! Yeppers. INSIDE the giant water bowl! They pointed and slashed, but I wasn’t buying it.

This isn’t how water bowls are supposed to work. I’mma big boy. TWO YEARS OLD. I knowz stuff, and this isn’t the way of water bowls.

Think they were confused. Too much sun on the head.

They threw my squeaky blue shark-fish into the water and I surveyed the scene, trying to figure out a way to snag it. A bit slippery on my chompers, but I eventually got it and ran over to chew it on the grass.

After a few times of this, Ma finally grabbed me and picked me up and set me inside.

The water was SO COLD on my paws, but it felt nice in the hot sun. I tried to escape a couple times, but Ma got into pool WITH ME and kept me there while Dad practiced his photo-journalism skillz.

We stayed in pool for a few minutes before I wiggled away and jumped out.

Zoomied around the yard to unwind my confusion, then we sat on the patio and just relaxed… all the while the giant water bowl was just sitting nearby.

This was SUCH A STRANGE THING! No idea what was going on here. Maybe I got sucked into a Multi-verse where water bowls are big and you jump into them sometimes.

Just glad I got back home where it’s safe, and my water bowls inside are normal sized and full of yummy cool water for when I need a drink.

Until next time, or whenever the news beckons like a barking dog you can’t help but pay attention to, #JournoDog out.

As always, remember: Love your pets. Support local journalism. Believe in facts and trust credible sources, even if seems make believe. And try to smile and find a little happiness for your heart every day.
